Scouts BSA Troop 12
We are a member of the Kootaga District of the Buckskin Council, Boy Scouts of America. Our troop meets every Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, W.Va.
Please feel free to join us.
Troop 12 is dedicated to the total scout experience. An active schedule of outdoor adventures, community service, leadership and advancement are the cornerstones of living by the scout oath and law.
Scouting grows moral strength and character, teaches citizenship, and enhances the development of physical, mental and emotional fitness, for both youth and adults.
The following are important events that the troop will be participating in:
Three fourths of “Scouting” is “outing.” Whether it is an overnight campout or a week at summer camp, an outdoor setting promises fun and adventure – two of Scouting’s great attractions.
 
Rank advancement requires Scout to earn Merit Badges. Some of these are predetermined and required as a Scout prepares for his Eagle Rank. Others can be chosen by the scout to fit his interests.
As the scouts in the troop travel on their trail to Eagle they will not only learn how to lead a team to a goal, but will lead teams of scouts and volunteers in a number of situations.
